The UBC Real Estate Club is a non-profit, student-run organization that works with UBC's Sauder School of Business as well as various real estate companies to educate, inspire and connect our top students, nurturing the future of the Vancouver's real estate industry.
Throughout the year, we host a series of events where students are exposed to reputable speakers, experienced professionals, faculty, and alumni. We also update our blog and newsletter regularly, providing helpful resources designed to maximize a students' success in pursuing a career in real estate.
Consisting of acquisitions, portfolio & asset management, lending, and others, a career in real estate finance involves valuing, purchasing, and managing real estate as an investment vehicle for profit, whether as an owner or a fiduciary.
Commercial brokers act as an intermediary between buyers and sellers of commercial properties, and often work with many investment and development firms to facilitate transactions.
Real estate developers seek out opportunities to purchase developed or undeveloped land, then either make improvements or construct real estate on the land, with the intention of then selling or leasing it for profit.
Real estate consultants are trained to analyze the needs and objectives of their clients, who are often investment, lending, construction or development firms, and advising strategies for addressing these needs.
Real estate marketing professionals establish promotional materials/activities on behalf of their clients, who are often development firms, investors, or brokerage firms, with the goal of maximizing the clients' brand and profile.
Property managers oversee the daily operations of a real estate asset, including rent collection, tenant requests/emergencies, property maintenance/repairs, and budget management.
Due to the nature of this academic school year, the UBC Real Estate Club will be hosting various webinar events, ranging from investments, brokerage, development, and asset management.
